Fincati, Mariachiara: The Medieval Revision of the Ambrosian Hexateuch

Critical Editing between Septuaginta and Hebraica Veritas in Ms. Ambrosianus A 147 inf. At the end of the 11th century the ancient Hexateuch Ms. Ambrosianus A 147 inf. underwent a general restoration: the original majuscule writing was retraced throughout, some lost sheets were replaced, and a great number of variant readings were added, being sometimes preferred to the original text. The purpose of the restoration appears to have been a revision of the Septuagint text in order to make it conform to the Masoretic.
